Mechanical ventilation in Daventry: why do new homes use it?
Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery brings in fresh air and reclaims heat from the outgoing air. An airtight building needs controlled ventilation because it no longer leaks air. The alternative is damp.
Mechanical ventilation is a ES Electrical (Midlands) Ltd service. After a flood at Weavers Academy, Wellingborough, it reinstated lighting and ventilation. The electrical side is the supply, the controls and the boost switching.
Can you sell a house with a failed EICr?
Yes. There is no legal requirement to have a satisfactory EICR to sell a house, but a buyer or lender who sees one may use it to negotiate. Dealing with the coded defects first tends to cost less than the price reduction otherwise requested.
How are electrical jobs priced in Daventry?
Pricing at ES Electrical (Midlands) Ltd is fixed and competitive, with no hidden extras. Fixed means the number is settled before anybody picks up a tool. A change to the scope is the thing that changes it.
A fixed price is only as good as the scope written behind it. The number of points, the cable routes, the board and who makes good afterwards all belong in it. Anything left unclear is where disagreements start.
What is a commercial electrician?
An electrician who works on business premises: offices, shops, factories, schools and the common parts of apartment blocks, usually on three phase supplies and larger distribution. ES Electrical (Midlands) Ltd lists commercial electrical installation and commercial EICR among its services.
What does a charge point installer check before fitting?
Before anything else the installer checks the capacity of the incoming supply. A typical 7kW home charger draws around 32 amps for hours at a time, so load management is often part of the design. The DNO is told about the new charger.
Earthing needs careful design where a vehicle is plugged in outdoors. Chargers build in protection for this, and it has to suit the earthing system of the property. EV car chargers are a ES Electrical (Midlands) Ltd service.
